Dancin' Legs

Today was the checkup for Lauren's leg. It has been four weeks since she got the cast on (I can't believe it went by so fast!) and Dr. Johnson wanted to x-ray it again to see how it was. Once we got the pictures done, the cast got to come off! Her fracture was healed! We are very excited. Her knee, ankle and foot are still sore from being in the same position for a month, so Lauren hasn't started walking yet. She is trying hard to be brave and move them a little. She is just like me--needing to take things slow and accomplish them when we're ready. She will be using those legs to go dancing soon. Then, for goodness sakes, Crash will appear once again!

Welcome to the World, Baby Girl!

This week has been a special week. Ali had her baby! Her name is Joscelyn Elizabeth, and she was born on July 9th at 2:02 am. She weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and was 18 inches long. She has a head of brown hair and beautiful blue eyes! She is a good baby. Ali is feeling fine, a little sore and, of course, tired! Brandon and Ali are doing well, adjusting to life as parents. They are a good team and just in love with Joscelyn! So is her Auntie Shell, of course. I got to spend the week with them, helping out and taking care of them. I think it was a blessing for all of us. Lauren went with me because of her leg, and enjoyed her time with Uncle Brandon. They played ball, messed around, and watched all of the Harry Potter movies. I think they both enjoyed it. Anna spent the week in Hobart with her grandparents and Aunt Kasey. She had a really good time too. We are all home now, glad to be here and happy to be together again.

Oh, Lauren!

We call her Crash for a reason. Monday afternoon she was dancing and we think she got her foot stuck on the kitchen chair. When she turned, her foot didn't come with her and there was a pop! I have never heard her scream like that before! That little twist caused a small spiral fracture on her right leg. We went to the doctor and got a bright red cast. Now she will be gimpy for the rest of the summer. Hopefully she'll get it off right before school starts. She was very brave! Now she'll get to be catered to more than normal--and I'm sure she's gonna use it as much as she can!
