Happy Birthday Anna!

On Monday, Anna turned eight years old. Oh how the years go by! I can't believe how big she is. To celebrate her day, we got cookies to share with her class. After school we went by the store to pick up a couple of things and found this HUGE balloon shaped like an 8. I told Ann she could have it, since you're only eight once! It was quite an adventure itself with the balloon. I expect you could see everywhere we went in Homeland while we shopped, since there was an eight hovering over us. Anna walked to the car with it, holding it and looking out one of the holes for the loops. When we got home, she set it down with the weight, and the ribbon popped off the balloon! Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, except that we were in the living room with our 16-foot cathedral ceiling! Inside I panicked, thinking we would never get it down. Then I remembered that I found a very long curtain rod in the cabinet. So I trekked upstairs and hoped that it would be long enough. And, voila! Mom rescues the 8! Now it is firmly tied to the weight and Anna has made a little clubhouse around where it is. She's too funny. After retrieving her balloon, we made her favorite funfetti cake and waited for Daddy. Once he got home, we went to Toys R Us and she picked out a fashion game for her DS and ate at Cracker Barrel for dinner. She wanted to feast on pancakes, bacon, and chocolate milk--and she ate every bite! It was even sweeter on her Red plate. She had a great day, and loves being eight. Yea, 8!
